Installing scenery is easy to do.

Start by opening Windows Explorer. Under your root folder, create a new folder. You can call it whatever you wish, but I'm going to use the example of c:\fsscenery.

After that, you need to create a subfolder for each area you want to install, and in that subfolder, you must create another subfolder called scenery.

A few things to note:

• You don't have to do it this way. You could choose to put all files right in to your FS scenery folder in the program. But by creating a separate folder, if you ever have to re-install FlightSim, you don't have to re-install your scenery.
• While you can call the folder whatever you wish, the subfolder must be called "scenery." If you call it anything else, it will not work.
• Many sceneries contain textures that work with that scenery only. You have two choices. You can place them all in the main FS-2002 folder, but you're better off creating another folder under your new scenery called texture, not textures. Place your textures in this folder. They will only be available to this area, but if you decide to delete the area, you don't have to go looking for the textures

Start FS-2002

Select the world menu, and then Scenery Library. It will display this screen:

Click on add, and it will bring up the next screen:

Find your way to to the correct folder, and highlight it. Do not double click it, you don't want to open the folder. After it's highlighted, give the area a name.

You next have the choice of "Cache This Scenery" or "Use This Scenery Directly." I use the second one, but feel free to experiment and find what works best for you.

Click OK to return to the previous screen, and then OK again. Your scenery should now show up.
