| Installing Scenery In FSX | |
|
Installing scenery is easy to do. Start by opening Windows Explorer. Under your root folder, create a new folder. You can call it whatever you wish, but I'm going to use the example of c:\fsscenery. ![]() After that, you need to create a subfolder for each area you want to install, and in that subfolder, you must create another subfolder called scenery. ![]() A few things to note:
Start FSX In previous versions you could access the scenery library through the menus but in FS-2004 this ability was removed and you could only access it through the start screen. With FSX, the ability to access the Scenery Library from within the program has been restored. Best of all, you don't have to restart the program for changes to take effect. Click on the World menu, and then Scenery Library. ![]() The main Scenery Library screen will come up. This screen has changed little since FS-98, so if you've used previous versions of Flight Simulator, you may already be familiar with it. ![]() Find your way to to the correct folder, and highlight it. Do not double click it, you don't want to open the folder. After it's highlighted, give the area a name. Click the add button, and browse to the directory that you created earlier containing your scenery files. ![]() It's best to choose Use This Scenery Directly. Click OK to return to the previous screen, and then OK again. FSX will reload the scenery, which may take a few minutes, and your changes wil now be available. If You're Still Having Trouble Hopefully, this has cleared everything up. But if you have questions that haven't been answered, E-Mail flightsim.andyjohnston.net and you'll be contacted as soon as possible.
