When Grauman's Chinese Theatre first opened in 1927, no one expected it to acheive the level of popularity that soon came to it. But when silent screen star Norma Talmadge accidentally stepped in wet cement outside the theatre, a new tourist attraction was born. Today, millions come to the theatre every year. It features an enormous screen, and state-of-the-art sound, but the biggest attraction is Hollywood's Walk-Of-Fame. Over 200 celebrities have left their hand prints in the cement in the courtyard. The theatre was purchased by Ted Mann in 1973 and it's name was changed to Mann's Chinese Theatre. In 1986, Mann sold it to Paramount which sold half to Warner Bros. The theatre is located at 6925 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, California at at latitude 34 06.13 and longitude 118 20.27. For FSX, this scenery includes a custom waypoint with the name MANNS which can be entered into the GPS. |
